Ok, I'm going to continue dreaming about my After Ozai scenario. With Asme (Kataang child) getting together with Zen (Maiko child).So it's about 30 or so years after th end of the series. There's a faction of disgraced fire nation generals, soldiers, etc, who want to overthrow Fire Lord Zuko - they've attempted several times, but each time been thwarted by the gaang, white lotus, etc. Until their leader decides that perhaps to use Azula - and break her out of the fire nation's prison.
Now go back to the Gaang. Everyone's settled down. Although at one point, Zuko and Katara were together, they had to split up for the sake of the Fire nation, and they end up with the couples at the end of the series. Fast forward a few years, and they all have children. In a reunion 10 years before the story takes place at Fire lord's palace, Asme and Zen meet.
Now to the beginning of the story. Aang and Katara live in the air temple closest to the south pole (Don't remember which one, lol). Sokka & Suki live in Ba Sing Se as does Toph. Zuko and Mai (obviously) are in the Fire Lord's castle. Aang and his family travel to Ba Sing Se to once again meet up with the group, and Asme and Zen meet once again.
At first, they clash, but start to get along more after a sparring match and actually conversing. Tierra, (Sokka & Suki's kid) takes interest in Zen, but he doesn't notice. However, when out in Ba Sing Se, Asme stumbles into a meeting of the faction. She is found, but escapes in time. She knows she can't stay in Ba Sing Se, and flees into the country, only to be followed by Zen, as he was out when they find her running away.
She explains what she's heard, and they adventure out to stop the faction's plans. Of course, when the parents find out their kids are gone, they go into a panic. Although Zuko and Mai must return to the castle with Izra; Syeo vows to find them and leaves with Tierra and Yun to bring them back.
As the story contiunes, Zen finds himself opening up more and more to Asme and slowly falling for her. Asme finds herself attracted to him as well, but both keep their feelings hidden for the sake of their mission. They come into many close calls with not only the faction, but Syeo's group.
At one point, Zen is captured by Syeo and Asme is able to escape. Asme finds she has to stop the faction's latest plan by herself, as Syeo continues to search for Asme as he cares only for his sister, and considers Zen a "fire nation brat". After a few days of cat and mouse with Asme and the group, Tierra comes to realize that perhaps Zen may have feelings for Asme. Once confronted, he comes clean about what they've been doing, but is reluctant to reveal his feelings for Asme. Tierra then sets him free to help Asme and fight the faction.
It is then when the faction kidnaps Izra under Azula's request for a heir. Asme and Zen immediately head to face them off. Izra and Azula talk before they come, and we see that they opposites of each other, which completely baffles Azula. Zen and Asme arrive and fight Azula. In the process, Asme gets hurt and knocked unconcious. Enrage, Zen defeats Azula, but she escapes as the faction's leader comes and rescues her.
Zen carries Asme to the nearest city, where the Gaang and Syeo's group is waiting. Syeo yells at Zen for being unable to protect his sister and belittles him until Kang steps in to defend Zen. Katara heals her, but she remains unconscious for the next few days. She wakes up to see Zen sleeping in a chair next to her bed and an ecstatic Izra, who tells her how her brother stayed by her side the entire time.
Zen wakes up and they talk. As Zen is about to confess & kiss Asme, Syeo comes forces them to seperate. Mai berates Zen under the protest of Iroh, and Zen finally snaps, releasing all his pent up emotions he's had towards his family, position, and especially his mother and storms off.
Asme is interrogated by both Aang and Syeo and also finds herself becoming annoyed. She also snaps and finally tells both her father off for neglecting her and Syeo for trying to protect her from the world when she's completely capable. Toph and Katara both step in and tell the two to knock it off.
Later that day, Zen meets with Syeo. Syeo, still angry with the Asme incident, snaps at Zen as he is finally aware of his feelings towards Asme. They fight until Tierra comes and seperates them. She lectures both Syeo and Zen and the two grudgingly make up.
As night comes, Asme is out looking at the stars, and Zen comes out. After they talk for a little bit, Zen finally confesses, and kisses her. Asme is still in shock, but admits she loves him too. They stare out into the stars, talking and holding hands through the night.
That's as far as I've gotten in the idea process xD.
