2009 is ending, time to ring in the new decade!!!All in all, it's been a pretty super awesome year. Sure it could of been better, but that's ok. Time goes on. There has been good and bad this year, and that's ok.
So g'bye 2009, hello 2010!
Anyways, I'm really liking the steampunk style. That sounds really dumb, but I'm OBSESSED with Steampunk Goggles and pocketwatches. They are fucking awesome. Seriously, alternate Victorian Era England is pretty kickass. Plus, some of the steampunk fiction looks really good. I'm going to list some examples:
- A Calculus of Angels (This one is borderline. More like alternate history)
- Ichabod Hart and the Lighthouse Mystery by James Roy
- Boneshaker by Cherie Priest
- Leviathan by Scott Westerfield (Author of the Uglies? Better impress me!)
- Whitechapel Gods by S.M. Peters
- The Translated Man by Chris Braak
- Ave Molech by Michael Hurston
- Clockwork Heart by Dru Pagliassotti (reluctant to read this one. It's a romance... >_>)
- The Irrelevant Redemption: A Steampunk Fairytale (I'm sure this one is graphic novel, but it sounds pretty damn good).
WELL I'M OFF TO WATCH STUFF ABOUT ENGLAND IN LIKE THE 1700s (PRIDE AND PREJUDICE) TATATATA HAVE A GOOD LAST DAY OF THE YEAR!

I am a product of my environment. Of my childhood.
